Reopening FAQs

Do I need to sign up to attend an In-Person Sunday Gathering?

Yes, we are currently requiring an RSVP to attend our in-person service. We are also limiting the capacity of our service to provide adequate space for social distancing. Although we are so sorry we cannot accommodate everyone right away, this is to ensure that we transition into holding our In-Person Gatherings in a manner that ensures the safety of our congregation and community. Our Reopening Committee will continue to evaluate this process on a weekly basis.

When and where will In-Person Sunday Gatherings be?

Our Sunday Gatherings will be held at 10:30am on Sundays in the same building as our church office in Lincoln Heights (2701 N Broadway 2F, Lincoln Heights 90031).

How do I check in on Sunday morning?

Upon arrival, please have your RSVP email confirmation printed or pulled up on your phone to help our Hospitality team check you in at our building entrance. Each person will be temperature checked and asked a series of safety questions before entering. If you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms, we ask that you refrain from entering the building and to join us when you are feeling well again.

Our sanctuary is on the 2nd floor and can be accessed by both elevator and stairs. If you are able, please use the stairs to allow for our families with strollers and people with accessibility needs to use our elevators.

Will parking be available?

There are a number of public parking lots near the building. You can also find metered spots and loading zones that are free on Sundays along Broadway and surrounding streets. As we are guests in this neighborhood, we want to be respectful of the residents in this community and so we encourage everyone to try to park in the public parking spaces before parking in the residential areas. See below for a map of public lots in the neighborhood highlighted in red:

Do I need to wear a face mask?

Face masks are required for anyone ages 4 and up to enter the building and must remain on while inside the building.

What about social distancing?

We are requesting all those in attendance to social distance by leaving at least one seat between you and the next party. We encourage you to refrain from hugs and handshakes and to give a friendly wave instead!

Will Livestream Services continue once Citizens LA starts meeting in person?

Absolutely! In addition to our limited capacity, we understand that there are a variety of reasons that many in our congregation may be unable to attend an In-Person Gathering. We will continue to livestream our service at 10:30a so our entire church family can worship together every Sunday.

Will there be any children’s programs available during the service?

For the months of June-August, there will be no separate Children’s worships. We ask that children join the parents in the main service, whether in-person or virtual, to worship as a family. Please make sure to drop by the Children’s Ministry table at the entrance to pick up worksheets and simple activities for the children. We will have an infant room available for our infant parents and parents of extra wiggly toddlers. You can park your strollers in the designated area in the back of the sanctuary. If you have further questions in regards to children, please our Children's Ministry Director, Catherine Yun, at catyun@citizensla.org.

What cleaning and disinfecting precautions will Citizens LA be doing?

We are hiring a professional cleaning service to disinfect and clean the building weekly before each gathering. In addition, our volunteers will be frequently disinfecting high touch areas such as handles, elevator buttons, railings, and restrooms. Touchless hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the sanctuary as well.

What is the easiest and safest way to give offering?

We will no longer be passing the offering basket during service. Instead, you can give online by either downloading the PushPay app and searching Citizens LA or by going to our Online Giving page below.

Will there be coffee and food?

At this time, we will not be offering any food or drinks.

I have underlying health conditions. Can I attend an In-Person Gathering?

If you or a loved one in your home is considered at-risk due to an underlying health condition, we recommend you refrain from attending our In Person Gatherings and instead join us online by attending our livestream.
