WHAT ARE COMMUNITY GROUPS?

We can be transformed to be more like Jesus in the ordinary rhythms of eating, praying, sharing, and learning in smaller, more intimate communities. The purpose of community groups is not only to equip the body to proclaim the good news, but to be the good news—to be the embodiment of the gospel in every part of our lives.

FALL AND SPRING CG SEASONS

Community Groups at Citizens meet for two seasons in a year. Each week, our groups share a meal, a time of intentional discussion, and a time of prayer.

  • Fall season begins the week of 9/13/26 and ends the week of 12/13/26.
  • Spring season begins the week of 1/24/27 and ends the week of 5/02/27.

GROUP TYPES

Community group members have the option of signing up for any one of the following group types: All Women’s, All Men’s, All Lifestages, Postgrad (21-24yo), Husbands/Fathers, and Mothers/Wives.

REGIONS

We offer community groups in a variety of neighborhoods:
  • DTLA
  • Koreatown
  • Mid-City
  • SGV
  • West LA
  • East LA
  • Burbank
  • South Bay
  • Orange County

HOW TO SIGN UP

Enrollment for 2026-2027 Community Groups will open on Monday, August 10 at 9AM and close on Wednesday, August 12 at 10PM. There is no need to rush: once enrollment closes, we will determine member rosters for each group via lottery.

WHAT IF I DON’T GET PLACED INTO A COMMUNITY GROUP?

Our hope and goal is that everyone who wants to participate in a Community Group will have the opportunity to join one. Anyone who does not get placed into a Community Group through the initial lottery will be placed onto a waitlist. If there is any space remaining in any of our Community Groups, we will open those up to the waitlist on Sunday, August 23 at 6 p.m. Sign-ups will be first-come, first-served.

If you were not able to join a Community Group this fall, you can join a waitlist to have priority enrollment for our spring Community Groups. Enrollment for spring Community Groups will take place in January 2027.

If you have any additional questions, reach out to our Pastor of Communities Aaron Kim (aaron@citizensla.org).
